Superstars 4/22/10

Superstars opens with Shad Gaspard making his way to the ring. Shad’s opponent for this match is Goldust. Shad and Goldust go at it and Goldust ends up being sent out of the ring. Shad goes after him, but gets caught with a clothesline. Goldust catches Shad with a pair of shots and when Shad fights back, Goldust clotheslines him out of the ring. On the outside, Shad fights back and sends Goldust into the steel steps. Goldust and Shad trade control. Shad hits a snapmare and follows up with a low clothesline. Shad covers for a 2 count. Goldust starts to fight back and catches Shad with an inverted atomic drop. He follows up with a clothesline. Goldust shoots Shad off and after a reversal catches Shad with a punch. Running bulldog type move gains Goldust a 2 count. Big boot from Shad drops Goldust, but when Shad goes for the pin, Goldust rolls him up for a 2 count. Shad sends Goldust into the ring post, and follows up with Thugnificent for the 3 count.

Move of the Match: Lots of good and some unique moves. This still has to go to Thugnificent as it is a particularly viscious version of the STO.

Up next is Yoshi Tatsu taking on Zack Ryder in a match. Ryder takes control at first, but soon falls victim to one of Yoshi’s kicks and goes to the ropes so the referee will back Yoshi off. Series of offensive moves by Yoshi. Yoshi catches Ryder with a pair of arm drags and maintains the hold on the arm. Yoshi continues his attack on the arm of Ryder. Ryder starts to fight back by slamming Yoshi to the mat, but Yoshi comes back with a hip toss followed by an arm drag. Ryder goes to the outside, and Ryder gains control by countering a baseball slide and sending Yoshi into the barricade. Superstars returns with Ryder and Yoshi in the ring. Ryder continues his attack and chokes Yoshi on the ropes. The referee backs Ryder up and Rosa takes advantage of the moment by slapping Yoshi. Yoshi begins to fight back with a series of forearm shots. Ryder regains control with the Rough Ryder Leg Lariat for a 2 count. Yoshi begins to fight back and sends Ryder into the turnbuckle. Series of kicks from Yoshi. Ryder tries to regain control, but Yoshi avoids the attack and nails Ryder with a dropkick. Yoshi and Ryder trade blows. Back body drop from Yoshi and after Ryder backs into the corner, Yoshi hits a flying forearm shot. Neckbreaker from Ryder gains him another 2 count. More kicks from Yoshi. Yoshi is elevated up and lands on the apron. Big roundhouse kick to Ryder from the apron and Yoshi climbs up top. Spinning heel kick from the top and Yoshi covers for the 3 count.

Move of the Match: This goes to the spinning heel kick. The Rough Ryder Lariat and the roundhouse kick were great as well, but the spinning heel kick takes the win.

The Superstars main event is Carlito taking on John Morrison. Carlito complains that he wasn’t used on RAW. Carlito says he’s going to prove why he deserves to be on RAW every week. Carlito gains control early with a side headlock. Morrison fights back and hits a monkey flip type move followed by a flapjack. Morrison hits the Shooting Star Splash for a 2 count on Carlito. Carlito fights back and regains control. Morrison starts to fight back, but Carlito hits a springboard corkscrew senton move on Morrison. Morrison starts to fight back. He builds some momentum and goes for the Flying Chuck Kick, but Carlito dropkicks his legs causing him to crash to the mat. Carlito maintains control with a chinlock, but Morrison starts to fight back. Morrison regains control and gets a 2 count following a spinning kick. Carlito counters an attack by Morrison and hits a spinning neckbreaker. Carlito tries to go for the Backstabber, but Morrison blocks it. Carlito attempts to roll Morrison up, but Morrison rolls through and catches him with a knee to the face. Morrison goes for Starship Pain, but Carlito rolls out of the way. Carlito covers and gets a 2 count. Morrison and Carlito trade blows. Carlito catches Morrison with a huge spinebuster for another 2 count. Carlito springboards over Morrison and goes for the Backstabber, but Morrison counters and hits his Pelé Kick. Morrison goes for the Moonlight Drive and Tarver climbs up on the ropes to distract the ref. Carlito counters and rolls up Morrison, but the referee is still distracted. Carlito gets mad at Tarver and Morrison takes advantage to hit the Flying Chuck to gain the pin.

Move of the Match: This either has to go to the spinebuster Carlito hit on Morrison, or to the Flying Chuck from Morrison to Carlito.
