RAW 4/26/10

RAW opens with ShoMiz defending their Unified Tag Team Championships against the Hart Dynasty. Miz says that the Hart Dynasty was “handed” their match tonight. Miz says he wants Bret Hart to come out and say that ShoMiz is the greatest tag team of all time. Bret comes out and says that he does declare that ShoMiz are the greatest Tag Team Champions off all time. He also declares that the Mounty was the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time and David Arquette was the greatest World Champion of all time. Bret says talk is cheap and tonight the Hart Dynasty will be declared the new Unified Tag Team Champions of the World.

Tyson Kidd and Miz start out in the ring. Some traditional wrestling and Kidd takes advantage with a side headlock. They continue trading control with counters and various armlocks. Kidd hits a springboard out of an armlock and into an arm drag. Kidd tags in Smith and Smith hits the delayed vertical on Miz for a 2 count. Smith sends Miz off and Miz rolls out of the ring. Smith follows and catches him with a shoulder block. RAW returns with Miz in control of Smith in the ring. Smith fights back and when Miz goes for a side headlock, Smith hits a back suplex. Both partners are tagged in. Kidd hits a springboard dropkick and tries to bring the speed attack to Show, but Show counters with a big boot. Show picks up Kidd and nails him with a huge headbutt. Big slap in the corner and Show stands on Kidd’s back. Show plants a foot on Kidd’s back and pulls up on his leg to wear him down. He tosses Kidd across the ring and tags in Miz. Kidd starts to fight back against Miz and counters an attack with a roll up. Backbreaker Neckbreaker combo from Miz to Kidd. Miz maintains a rear chinlock until Kidd fights back with kicks. Kidd kicks off Miz and tags in Smith. Shoulder tackles and clotheslines from Smith. He clotheslines Miz in the corner and goes for a powerslam. Series of near falls and Kidd hits a snap powerslam. Smith runds into a boot from Miz and Miz tries to cover with his feet on the ropes, but Brett Hart pushes them off. Kidd takes out Show on the outside and Smith rolls up Miz, but only gets a 2 count. Smith tags in Kidd and they hit the Springboard Hart Attack. Kidd follows up with the Sharpshooter and Miz taps out. The Hart Dynasty wins the Tag Team Championships.

Move of the Match: The Springboard Hart Attack is a great move. But this has to go to the Sharpshooter for the win.

Back from break, they show that during the break, Show nailed Miz with the big right hand.

Josh Matthews is back in the locker room with Jack Swagger. Swagger says that what he did last night “screams” World Champion. Swagger brags about having had a perfect GPA in college. Edge comes in and says that Swagger should worry about the fact that Edge is next in line for his championship. He tells Swagger that Swagger should hope they end on different brands or Swagger’s title reign won’t last.

Team LayCool vs. Eve and Maryse for a diva’s draft pick. Eve and Layla start out. Eve kicks Layla and gets her in a side headlock. Layla keeps trying to fight out, but keeps getting caught. Eve sends Layla into the corner and catches her with a clothesline. Eve goes to tag Maryse, but Maryse kicks her. Eve and Maryse brawl outside the ring. Eve gets back into the ring before the 10 count. Layla catches Eve with a low dropkick. Layla goes over and tags in McCool. McCool catches Eve with a clothesline. McCool slams Eve repeatedly into the mat. McCool chokes Eve on the ropes. While the ref backs her up, Layla chokes Eve. Dragon Sleeper from McCool, but Eve is able to fight. McCool goes for an inverted suplex, but Eve counters with an inverted DDT. Eve catches McCool with a clothesline and a pair of dropkicks. A neckbreaker earns Eve a 2 count. She goes for the handspring moonsault, but Maryse tags in. Maryse taunts eve and turns right into the big boot from McCool.

Move of the Match: I’m gonna give this to the Inverted DDT as a counter to the Inverted Suplex.

Kelly Kelly has been drafted to SmackDown.

The next match has Punk representing SmackDown and Evan Bourne representing RAW. Bourne goes after Punk, but Punk backs him into the corner. Series of shots from Punk to Bourne. Bourne catches Punk with a running huracanrana and follows up with kicks. Punk counters another huracanrana attempt into a backbreaker. Punk begins to target Bourne’s back. Bourne fights back and gets a 2 count on Punk. Punk fights back and catches Bourne with a spinning kick. Punk goes for a suplex, but Bourne knees him in the head. Bourne continues with the knee strikes to the head. Bourne catches Punk with a kick and Punk rolls out of the ring. Bourne goes to fly, but Serena gets in the way. He restrategizes and flies over Serena onto Punk and Gallows. Kick to the jaw and Bourne follows up with a knee in the corner. Serena distracts the referee and the hooded man jumps the barrier and crotches Bourne on the ropes. Punk gets Bourne on his shoulders and hits the GTS. Punk covers for the 3 count.

Move of the Match: I’m actually gonna give this to the dive onto Punk and Luke Gallows from Bourne.

SmackDown drafts The Big Show.

Backstage, Long tells Big Show he can’t wait to have him on SmackDown. Big Show just stares stone faced and Long asks if he can do anything to help Show out. Show puts his arm around Long, and then laughs and says, “We’re good, Teddy.” Long celebrates that Show has been celebrated to SmackDown.

Sheamus comes out to the ring. He says that Triple H’s career is over. He says that now that Triple H is gone, he wants the WWE Championship. Orton interrupts and comes out to the ring. Orton says nobody has despised Triple H as much as he has. Orton says when he fought Triple H at Wrestlemania a year ago, he did it like a man, face to face, not by jumping him from behind with a lead pipe. Orton tells Sheamus he doesn’t deserve a title shot. Sheamus says Orton had a title shot last night and lost. Sheamus threatens to put Orton on the sidelines like Triple H. Orton threatens to RKO and Punt Sheamus. John Cena comes out. He answers the phone saying it’s WWE Global. He says there’s no guest host and asks what to do. He also takes the time to make some jokes about Sheamus. Cena says he was told tonight that he could name the number 1 contender to the championship. He says that Sheamus and Orton will face off tonight to decide the number 1 contender. Sheamus goes for the kick, but Orton ducks. Orton goes for the RKO, but Sheamus escapes and slides out of the ring.

10 Man Dual Branded Battle Royale for 3 Draft Picks. Rey Mysterio, Kane, R-Truth, Drew McIntyre and Shad make up the SmackDown team. The RAW team consists of MVP, Mark Henry, Yoshi Tatsu, Santino and Ted DiBiase. Kane opens the action with an uppercut to Santino. Yoshi is tossed over the ropes by Drew, but gets back in. Yoshi eliminates Drew. Shad eliminates Yoshi. Headbutt from Shad to DiBiase. Kane tries to toss MVP out while R-Truth tries to toss Santino out. Big headbutt from Henry to R-Truth. Mysterio hangs up Henry on the ropes. Kane and Henry go at it and MVP saves Henry. MVP hits the Player’s Boot on Kane. DiBiase tries to eliminate Mysterio, but Mysterio hangs on. Back from break, MVP tries to eliminate Mysterio, but Mysterio counters and MVP is eliminated. Santino helps DiBiase eliminate R-Truth and Shad. Henry tries to toss Kane out of the ring, but Mysterio hits a 619 to Henry’s abdomen and Kane sends Henry out of the ring. DiBiase quickly eliminates Kane. Mysterio tries to eliminate DiBiase, but both men hang on and reenter the ring. DiBiase tries to eliminate Mysterio again, but Mysterio again holds on. Mysterio tries to eliminate DiBiase again. The two fight on the apron. DiBiase finally catches Mysterio with a kick and Mysterio goes out.

Move of the Match: I’d give this to the tag team action that eliminated Mark Henry from action.

Post Match, Santino is showboating and DiBiase hits him with Dream Street.

John Morrison, R-Truth and Edge are drafted to RAW.

Chris Jericho comes out to the ring. Jericho complains about Edge attacking his leg during the match last night. Jericho says Edge should be suspended. Jericho blames Heath Slater for his losing the match. He calls out Slater and says Slater should come apologize to him. Slater says he’s sorry Jericho couldn’t beat Edge last night, he’s sorry Jericho couldn’t beat him, and he’s sorry Jericho won’t beat Christian either. Christian comes out and Slater tosses Jericho out of the ring.

Christian attacks Jericho, gaining control early. He turns his attention to the leg Edge attacked last night. Jericho rolls out of the ring and Christian nails Jericho with a big dropkick out of the ring. RAW returns with Jericho controlling Christian with a rear chinlock. Christian fights back and rolls Jericho up for 2. Jericho regains control and chokes Christian on the ropes. Christian tries to fight back by going to the leg again, but Jericho stops him and hits a scoop slam. Jericho goes for the Lionsault, but Christian moves. Christian gets control of Jericho and hits his flying elbow move. Jericho escapes the Killswitch, but gets dropped onto the ropes. Christian stands on his back and hits the punch. Christian goes for the missile dropkick, but Jericho catches him. Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho, but Christian rolls him up for a 2 count. Jericho hits an Enzuigiri and gains a 2 count. Jericho focuses on Christian’s head. He goes for the bulldog out of the corner, but Christian counters with an inverted DDT. Christian goes for the Killswitch, but Jericho counters and goes for the Walls. Christian fights out and Jericho sends him into the turnbuckle. Christian gets the sunset flip for a 2 count. Jericho gets Christian into the Walls of Jericho, but Christian reaches the ropes. Jericho thinks he won, but the referee tells him Christian reached the ropes. Christian catches Jericho with a big punch. He goes for a dive onto Jericho from the top rope, but Jericho counters with the Codebreaker and gets the pin.

Move of the Match: This has to go to the Codebreaker as a counter to the diving attack.

Post match, Slater comes into the ring and Jericho attacks him. Jericho hits the Codebreaker on Slater.

SmackDown drafts Kofi Kingston. Kofi hits the ring and catches Jericho with Trouble in Paradise.

Up next is another match with John Morrison representing RAW and World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger representing SmackDown. Swagger starts out with a technical takedown. Morrison fights back. Trade of blows between Morrison and Swagger. Swagger takes control and performs some rolling from a back mount. Swagger paintbrushes Morrison, but all that does is make him mad. Morrison catches Swagger with a big kick and covers for 2. Morrison turns his attention to Swagger’s arm. Swagger fights back and hits a scoop slam. Swagger and Morrison continue with the mat wrestling. Swagger maintains a side headlock to keep control of Morrison. Morrison keeps trying to fight back, but Swagger keeps maintaining the hold. Swagger goes back against the ropes, but Morrison kips up and dropkicks Swagger out of the ring. Morrison follows up with a corkscrew plancha on Swagger. Morrison gets a 2 count on Swagger. Swagger finally fights back with a shoulder block in the corner that causes Morrison to fall ribs first onto the apron. RAW returns with Swagger now fully in control of Morrison and focusing on Morrison’s arm. Morrison fights back with kicks. Swagger tries to pick him up, but Morrison counters with a victory roll for a 2 count. Morrison on the apron attacks Swagger as Swagger tries to bring him back in. Swagger fights back and performs an abdominal stretch on the ropes. Swagger sets Morrison up on the top rope, but Morrison fights back. Series of moves and Morrison starts building momentum. The Shooting Star Splash gains Morrison a 2 count. Swagger headbutts Morrison’s abdomen and tosses him across the ring. Swagger goes for the slingshot splash, but Morrison fights back. Catapult into the turnbuckles and Morrison gets a 2 count. Morrison hits the flying chuck followed by the knee to the face, but Swagger gets a leg on the ropes. Swagger rolls out of the ring. Morrison goes after him and sends him into the barricades. The get back into the ring and Swagger goes for the Gutwrench Powerbomb, but Morrison holds onto the ropes. Morrison hits a Russian legsweep and goes for Starship Pain, but Swagger stops him. Swagger pulls him off the ropes, hits the Gutwrench Powerbomb and covers for the win.

Move of the Match: Lots of great moves and the Gutwrench Powerbomb was great, but this has to go to Morrison’s Corkscrew Plancha onto Swagger.

Christian is drafted to SmackDown.

Backstage, DiBiase is encouraging Carlito to join up with him. Carlito says he’d rather sit on the sidelines than join DiBiase. DiBiase asks R-Truth to be his confidant. R-Truth says DiBiase wants himself a Virgil. DiBiase says he’d pay R-Truth a lot of money. R-Truth slaps DiBiase and says, “Truth don’t play that.”

The final draft pick match will be between Dolph Ziggler and Hornswoggle. Hornswoggle goes for a low kick, but Ziggler moves. Hornswoggle runs to the outside and Ziggler faces him. Ziggler sends Hornswoggle into the ring, but everytime Ziggler tries to get in, Hornswoggle hits him. The referee counts 10 and Hornswoggle wins.

There was no move in this match deserving of being called the move of the match, just repeated blows from Hornswoggle to Ziggler.

After the match, Ziggler attacks Hornswoggle from behind and puts him down with the sleeper hold. Jerry goes into the ring to check on Hornswoggle.

RAW drafts Chris Jericho.

Before Randy Orton vs. Sheamus can start, Batista comes out to the ring. Batista says he should be WWE Champion. Batista complains about Cena embarrassing him last night. Sheamus comes out and tells Batista that he needs to accept that he lost. Orton comes out and suggests that tonight he beats Sheamus one on one and then beats Batista one on one. Cena comes out and makes the match a triple threat match.

Randy Orton vs. Sheamus vs. Batista. Winner gets a shot at John Cena’s Title. Batista slides out of the ring to start the match and lets Sheamus attack Orton. Orton fights back against Sheamus and attacks him in the corner. Sheamus fights back and hits a powerslam. Batista breaks up the count and throws Sheamus into the ring post. Orton backs Batista into the corner and stomps away at him. Orton drops Batista with a European uppercut and stomps away. Big knee drop and Orton gets a 2 count. Batista rolls out of the ring and Orton goes after him. Batista catches Orton with a thumb to the eyes. He rolls Orton back into the ring and whips him into the corner. Clothesline in the corner and another whip. Batista slams Sheamus into the announce table on the outside, but gets caught by Orton when he returns to the ring. Orton goes after Batista in the corner. Batista tries to fight back, but gets caught with a kick to the face. Sheamus comes back and goes after Orton, but Orton sends him into the ring post and Sheamus is back down on the outside. Batista sets Orton up and follows with a low boot to the face for a 2 count. Batista gets Orton into a chinlock, but Sheamus breaks up the hold. Orton takes Sheamus out of the ring. Orton gets caught with a spinebuster from Batista. Back from break, Sheamus is in control of Orton in the ring. They show Batista, Orton and Sheamus trading attacks on each other during the break. Sheamus and Orton fight on the outside and Orton slams Sheamus into the announce table twice. Batista nails Orton with a spinebuster into the ring apron. Batista rolls Sheamus back into the ring and nails him with a clothesline. Sheamus fights back and sends Batista out of the ring with an “Irish hammer” as Striker calls it. Sheamus hits the Irish Curse Backbreaker on Orton for a 2 count. He goes to a cross face chickenwing variation on Orton. Orton starts to fight back and drops Sheamus with a series of clotheslines. Batista comes back in, but he gets taken down too. Orton hits Batista with a snap powerslam and goes for the spike DDT on Sheamus. Sheamus counters and sends Orton out of the ring. Batista drops Sheamus with a spin out powerbomb, but Orton pulls him out of the ring. Orton gets the rope hung spike DDT on Batista and sets up for the RKO, but Sheamus catches Orton with a knee to the temple. Sheamus looks for the crucifix powerbomb, but Orton escapes and Batista spears Sheamus. Sheamus kicks out at 2. Batista sets up for the Batista Bomb, but Orton catches him with a backbreaker. Orton catches Sheamus with the snap powerslam, and hits the RKO, but Edge comes into the ring and spears Orton. Batista rolls over and drapes an arm across Orton. The referee makes the count and Batista wins the number 1 contendership.

Move of the Match: Lots of great moves, but I’ve got to give this to Edge’s spear that allowed Batista to pick up the win.
