NXT opens with the announcement that one of the NXT Rookies will be eliminated tonight. It is then revealed that one of the Rookies will have immunity. To earn immunity, the Rookie must win the Keg Carry Challenge. Michael McGillicutty is first. He starts out, but drops the keg and is disqualified. McGillicutty says he was with Husky Harris the other night and the keg is at least twice as heavy as the kegs they had then. Lucky Cannon is up next. Lucky completes the carry in 12.7 seconds. Percy Watson makes it in 13 seconds and therefore doesn’t beat Lucky’s time. Eli Cottonwood starts out slow and only gets 13.3 seconds. Kaval goes forward. He says that the keg weighs as much as him and he’s not going to pose any risk to his body unless it’s in the ring. Titus O’Neil comes out. He trips as he starts and he drops the keg and flips over it. O’Neil says this is why you don’t drink and drive. Husky Harris is next. Harris drops the keg halfway through and it looks like he may have tweaked his leg on the run. Striker asks Harris if he got hurt. Harris tells Striker to back off. Alex Riley is last. He completes in 13.8 seconds and that means that Lucky Cannon has secured immunity. Lucky says that what he lacks in size and speed, he makes up for in heart.

They play a profile of “Showtime” Percy Watson. He talks about what he has done and says he is a superior athlete to the other rookies.

Husky Harris is taking on MVP in tonight’s first match. MVP and Harris have some grappling action and MVP gets control. Move of the Match: MVP’s Play of the Day is nice, but I honestly have to give this to Husky’s running splash because it was an impressive move.

Up next is Kaval, Lucky Cannon and Michael McGillicutty vs. Eli Cottonwood, Titus O’Neil and Alex Riley. McGillicutty starts out with Cottonwood and tries to take him down. Cottonwood overpowers McGillicutty. Cottonwood tags in O’Neil and McGillicutty tags in Lucky. Lucky works on O’Neil’s arm. RAW 6/28/10

Again feeling lazy and didn’t do SmackDown last week. Hopefully I’ll review all of the shows this week. I’m off to a good start by actually reviewing RAW. We’ll see how things go for the rest of the week.

RAW opens with Sheamus coming out to the ring. Sheamus says Cena is no longer the #1 Contender for the WWE Championship. Cena comes out. Cena asks Sheamus to help him take out the Nexus. Sheamus appears to be willing to join Cena in taking on the Nexus. The computer beeps and Michael Cole reads the email from the anonymous GM. The GM has ruled that if any member of the Nexus makes contact with any WWE Superstar, they will be terminated. Any superstar who initiates contact with a member of the Nexus will be suspended. Cena challenges Sheamus to a match tonight and Sheamus says no. Cole gets another email. The email says Sheamus will be in action tonight against Mark Henry. Cena complains and Cole gets another email that says that Money in the Bank debuts in 3 weeks. The event will feature a RAW MITB Match and a SmackDown MITB Match. The winner of each match will receive a contract for a championship match on their respective brand for up to a year from winning it. The email says the 8 participants for the RAW match will be revealed later tonight. The email states that the new GM would like to “demonstrate.” Sheamus says the GM can demonstrate all he wants, but Sheamus is going back to the locker room. As Sheamus makes his way up the ramp, a steel cage begins to lower over the ring. Cole receives another email which states that since last weeks match ended inconclusively, at MITB Sheamus will face Cena in a Cage Match.

Back from break, the Hart Dynasty is out to the ring for a 6 person tag team match. As they’re about to enter the ring, they’re jumped by the Usos and Tamina. The Usos and Tamina take out the Hart Dynasty. Tamina slides Natalya into the ring and hits the diving splash on her.

In the back Josh Matthews asks R-Truth about the Nexus. R-Truth says the Nexus are acting like a bunch of animals. He says they should leave the Nexus right there at the WWE Zoo, because Truth is the zookeeper.

Vladimir Kozlov taking on Santino is next. If Santino wins, Kozlov will become Santino’s tag team partner. Santino goes for a double leg takedown, but Kozlov counters and tries to lock in an armbar. Santino escapes, but Kozlov catches Santino and hits the headbutts followed by the belly to belly slam for 2. Kozlov locks in a reverse bear hug, but Santino fights out and takes down Santino. Kozlov catches a charging Santino and hits the Iron Curtain for the 3 count.

Move of the Match: I think I have to give this to the Iron Curtain, primarily due to the fact that there weren’t many moves worth mentioning in the match.

Kozlov tries to pick Santino up, but Santino keeps falling down. Kozlov leaves Santino in the ring and greets William Regal on the ramp. Regal goes into the ring and attacks Santino. Kozlov sees Regal attacking Santino and goes back to the ring. He hits a big kick to Regal who runs out of the ring. Kozlov pulls Santino to his feet and helps him out of the ring. Kozlov picks Santino up on his shoulders and carries him out of the ring.

Josh Matthews is in the back with Khali. He asks Khali about Nexus and Khali says something. Josh asks Ranjin to translate. Ranjin says Khali is a big stupid giant and his manager is tired of protecting him. He says that if the Nexus attacked right now, Khali would run.

The 8 Participants are Randy Orton, The Miz, R-Truth, Chris Jericho, Evan Bourne, Ted DiBiase, John Morrison and Edge. Edge appears on the screen. Edge says he hasn’t talked to Rob Zombie since he dumped his song as entrance music. Rob says that Edge didn’t dump the song, Rob took the song back. Edge points out that he won the first MITB Ladder Match. They show highlights of his win and subsequent title win. Michael Cole gets another email. This one says that tonight there will be an 8 man tag match with Edge, Miz, DiBiase and Jericho taking on Bourne, Morrison, Truth and Orton.

Sheamus locks in a reverse chin lock. Henry backs Sheamus into the corner, but Sheamus avoids the attack and clips Henry’s knee. Sheamus charges at Henry, but Henry drops him with a clothesline. Henry hits another clothesline and a big splash, but Sheamus gets a foot on the rope. Sheamus rolls out of the ring and Henry goes out after him. Henry throws Sheamus through the middle ropes into the ring. Sheamus hits his pump kick on Henry and covers for the 3 count.

Move of the Match: The pump kick is impressive, but I have to give this to Henry’s splash.

Josh Matthews is in the back with Nexus. Tarver says they can still make an impact. Sheffield then proceeds to take out a stage manager.

Up next King brings out Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat to talk about his new dvd. They bring out Dean Malenko, Mike “IRS” Rotunda, Michael “P.S.” Hayes and Arn Anderson. All four men praise Ricky’s career. The Nexus comes out and proceeds to take out the Legends one by one.

The next match is Alicia Fox and Maryse vs. Eve Torres and Gail Kim. Alicia hits a series of shots to Eve. Eve goes for a sunset flip, but Alicia fights back and hits a knee to Eve’s temple. Alicia hits a knee on Eve in the corner. She follows up with a snapmare and covers for 2. Alicia tags in Maryse. Maryse kicks Eve and covers for 2. Gail counters the tilt-a-whirl backbreaker with a lateral press for a 2 count. Gail dropkicks Alicia into the corner, but Alicia slides out of the ring. Alicia slams Eve into the ring apron on the outside. Maryse comes in and attacks Gail. Gail fights off Maryse, but Alicia comes in and hits the Scissors Kick for the 3 count and the win.

Move of the Match: The scissors kick is powerful, but I was impressed by Gail’s counter to the tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and I’m going to give this to her lateral press counter.

Tonight’s Main Event is an 8 man tag with Edge, Jericho, Miz and DiBiase taking on Orton, R-Truth, Morrison and Bourne. Morrison and DiBiase start out. DiBiase takes the attack to Morrison and stomps him into the corner. Morrison fights back and catches DiBiase with a back body drop. Morrison tags in R-Truth. Truth goes after DiBiase and when DiBiase charges at him, Truth sends DiBiase to the outside. Truth tags in Bourne, who hits a diving kick to DiBiase on the outside and sends him back into the ring. Morrison springs out onto the two with his corkscrew plancha. Jericho distracts the ref and Edge jumps Morrison on the outside. Back from break Morrison is in the ring with Jericho. DiBiase takes a few cheap shots on Morrison. They show that during the break Jericho took advantage of the referee being distracted to hit Morrison with the ladder at ringside. Jericho tries to get Morrison in from the apron with a suplex, but Morrison floats over and rolls Jericho up for 2. Jericho hits Morrison with a dropkick and tags in Edge. Morrison tries to fight back, but Edge catches him with a drop toe hold. Edge tags in DiBiase who hits Morrison with a series of shots. DiBiase hits knees on Morrison in the corner. Jericho tags in DiBiase and Bourne tags in Orton. Orton hits the RKO almost immediately and covers DiBiase for the 3 count and the win.

Move of the Match: This match had its share of great moves. I’m going to give this to Orton’s RKO.

Morrison and Bourne come in and kick the ladder into Edge. Jericho gets caught with a kick and Morrison helps Bourne fly out onto him. McGillicutty follows up with his running swing neckbreaker and gets the 3 count.

Move of the Match: There were a number of good moves in this match. I like Cottonwood’s reverse chokeslam, but I’m going to give this to Kaval’s double foot stomp to the back of Cottonwood’s head.

They play a promo for Lucky Cannon. He says he was severely injured when hit in the back of the head with a lead pipe and was in a coma for a few weeks. He says that when he came out of the coma he had to learn everything over. He says his biggest asset is his heart.

Lucky floats over in the corner, but Rhodes hits his enzuigiri out of the corner. Rhodes follows up with the Cross Rhodes and covers to win the match with 1:02 left on the clock.

Move of the Match: The enzuigiri is impressive and the Cross Rhodes is a great move, but I have to give this to the unique submission used by Rhodes on Lucky.

Up next, Matt Striker is giving the Rookies their chance to plead their case before next weeks first vote. He tells them they will each have 45 seconds to tell why they will be WWE’s Next Breakout Star.
Alex Riley says that 10 years ago he was stuffing guys like the other Rookies in lockers and stealing their lunch money. Riley says he shouldn’t have to tell anyone that he’s a superstar.
Kaval says that 10 years ago, WWE wouldn’t take him because they said he was too small. Kaval says he’s here now and he will prove that size doesn’t matter.

Fatal 4-Way Predictions

Time for Fatal 4- Way Predictions. Normally I do these the day of the Pay-Per-View, but because tomorrow is Father’s Day, I’m making my predictions tonight instead of tomorrow afternoon. As of right now there are only 5 matches set for the Pay-Per-View. I don’t know if more will be added, but I’ll be predicting the 5 established.

Diva’s Championship Fatal 4-Way Match (Eve vs. Maryse vs. Alicia Fox vs. Gail Kim)
What I want to happen: I would like to either see Eve retain the title, or Gail win her first Diva’s Championship.
My Prediction: I really see Alicia and Gail as being filler to make this a Fatal 4-Way Match. The best odds are on Eve retaining or Maryse winning the Championship. I’m going to predict that Eve will retain in this match.

United States Championship Match (R-Truth vs. The Miz)
What I want to happen: I’d like to see R-Truth pick up the win in this match.
My Prediction: This is hard to predict because Miz just picked up the title on RAW. It’s rare to see a Champion lose the title that soon after winning it. Still, they’ve been having Truth and Miz feud with Miz trying to regain the Championship and having trouble topping Truth. This very well could have simply been a way to increase Truth’s number of Title reigns, and I honestly see him picking up the win in this match.

Intercontinental Championship Match (Kofi Kingston vs. Drew McIntyre)
What I want to happen: Drew gets his just deserts again as Kofi picks up the win in this match.
My Prediction: Kofi seems to be set for a big push soon, so I don’t see him losing the Title just yet. I predict Kofi wins or at least retains the title. I wouldn’t rule out Matt Hardy showing up and affecting the way the match ends.

World Heavyweight Championship Match (Jack Swagger vs. Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk vs. The Big Show)
What I want to happen: I’d like to see Show pick up the win in this match because I think he could be a great champion and he hasn’t had a reign with a major singles title in years.
My Prediction: I’m going to be looking for Swagger to retain in this match. He’s had a good reign so far and while there’s a lot of potential storylines with any of these superstars winning, I really think Swagger still has a good run ahead of him if they let him keep the Championship.

WWE Championship Match (John Cena vs. Randy Orton vs. Edge vs. Sheamus)
What I want to happen: While I like Cena as champ, I’d like to see Orton pick up the Title in this match.
My Prediction: Honestly, for some reason, I kind of see Sheamus picking up the win in this match. All four are favored for different reasons. Sheamus however will be favored both by the fact that Fatal 4-Way matches are generally no DQ, because Sheamus is much larger than the other 3 competitors and because Sheamus has an opportunistic nature like Edge. I honestly expect Sheamus will pick up the victory in this match.
