RAW 4/19/10

RAW opens with Triple H coming out to the ring. He talks about the volcanic eruptions and the fact that the RAW roster is stuck in Europe. Triple H talks about this Sunday until he is interrupted by CM Punk and the Straight Edge Society. Punk talks about the SmackDown superstars being at RAW tonight. He also talks about the draft being next week. Triple H implies that Rey will beat Punk at Extreme Rules. Punk says that he will beat Rey at Extreme Rules and everyone will realize that Straight Edge is powerful. He begins to try to convince Triple H to accept Straight Edge. Triple H talks about how people can do as they choose. Punk says he thought Triple H would want to start Monday Night Raw with something big. He thought that Triple H would be willing to shave his head and join the Straight Edge Society. Now he says he’s not asking Triple H, he’s telling him. Triple H goes after both Punk and Gallows, but the numbers game catches up to him. The Straight Edge Society goes to shave Triple H’s head, but Mysterio hits the ring to make the save. Mysterio and Triple H send Gallows out of the ring with a double clothesline. They grab Punk and Mysterio cuts off a piece of his hair with clippers. Before they can do any more, Gallows returns to the ring providing a distraction and allowing Punk to escape.

RAW opens with Matt Hardy taking on Drew McIntyre. The two trade blows with Hardy doing most of the damage. Hardy catches Drew with a neckbreaker. Hardy clotheslines Drew out of the ring. The fight continues on the outside where Drew kicks Hardy into the ring steps. Drew continues the attack to Hardy’s head. Hardy is dazed and takes a few swings that hit nothing but air. Drew goes for another strike, but gets caught with the Side Effect. 2 count for Hardy. Hardy hits another neckbreaker type move on McIntyre. Hardy goes for the Twist of Fate, but McIntyre blocks. McIntyre goes for the Future Show, but Hardy counters with a back body drop. Hardy attempts the Twist of Fate again, but McIntyre again blocks it. He sends Hardy into the ropes and the two men collide. McIntyre climbs up to go for his elbow drop, but McIntyre pulls him off the ropes and he lands on his head. McIntyre covers and picks up the 3 count for the win.

Move of the Match: Based on the moves that actually took place, I’d give this to the Side Effect from Hardy.

They’re interviewing Cena via satellite. Cena says they’re stuck in Belfast and they’re sorry they couldn’t be at RAW tonight. Cena says that he will be at Extreme Rules Sunday, even if he has to swim across the ocean. Cena says at Extreme Rules he will be the Last Man Standing.

Kozlov is present on RAW tonight. Apparently he has a statement that he wants King to read. King reads the statement. The statement says that Kozlov is protesting against unfair treatment by the RAW guest hosts. Kozlov wants proper competition. The cast of McGruber come out with American flags. McGruber is joined by Vickie who reads an announcement of the main event. CM Punk, Luke Gallows and Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio, Triple H and Edge will be the main event. McGruber calls Kozlov a “giant pile of suck.” McGruber insults Kozlov’s mother. Kozlov says he won’t get angry, he’ll just destroy him later tonight. McGruber announces that Kozlov has a match and his opponent will give him a strong dose of “The Truth.” McGruber says that he has rigged the entire place with explosives to keep Kozlov from running. An explosion goes off and all that is left of R-Truth is his shoes. Kozlov repeats his threat to destroy McGruber later tonight.

RAW returns with McGruber trying to go out the exit. Triple H comes over and talks to him. Triple H notices that McGruber has apparently wet his pants. McGruber tries to make excuses. McGruber says that Kane is his friend and Triple H tells Kane that McGruber was telling him how Kane peed in his pants. McGruber makes an excuse and leaves.

Orton is on via satellite. Orton says that after Extreme Rules, wherever he ends up, is where the championship will be.

Jack Swagger comes out to the ring. Swagger says if Randy were there tonight, he’d show him why he is the World Heavyweight Champion. Swagger issues an open challenge. Nobody comes out at first, but when Swagger goes to make his way out of the ring, the gongs begin to chime and the Undertaker comes out. Swagger starts the match with a side headlock. Taker shoots him off and Swagger answers with a shoulder block. Taker gets control and begins to go after the arm. Taker takes Swagger down with Old School. Swagger begins to fight back and hits a snap powerslam for a 2 count. Swagger sends Taker out of the ring and goes after him, but gets slammed into the steel steps. Swagger is able to send Taker knee first into the steps. Swagger focuses his attack on Taker’s legs. Taker is able to regain some control by tossing Swagger out of the ring. Apron leg drop from Taker. Snap suplex for a 2 count and Taker locks in a chin lock. Back from break and Swagger has a toe hold on Taker. Taker kicks Swagger off, but Swagger goes right back to the knee. Taker kicks Swagger out of the ring and when he gets up, he wraps Taker’s leg around the ring post. Taker begins to fight back. Swagger shoots him off, and Taker catches Swagger with a DDT. Taker hits Snake Eyes, the Big Boot and a running leg drop for a 2 count on Swagger. Taker goes for a chokeslam. Swagger fight out, but runs into another Big Boot. Swagger fights back against Taker and counters a move with a DDT of his own. Swagger goes for the corner slingshot splash, but Taker catches him by the throat, gets up and hits the chokeslam. Taker hits Swagger with the Tombstone Piledriver to win the match.

Move of the Match: Lots of good moves, but I’ve got to give it to the Tombstone Piledriver.

Jericho is backstage with the Straight Edge Society. He tells them that if they follow his plan, they’ll come out on top. He talks with the stars of McGruber about his role in the movie. McGruber asks Jericho for advice in regards to his match with Kozlov.

McGruber comes out for his match with Kozlov. Taking Jericho’s advice, McGruber offers Kozlov a handshake, and then proceeds to slap him. Kozlov headbutts McGruber multiple times, and then goes for the Iron Curtain, but Ryan Phillippe comes in and announces that this match is now a handicap match and McGruber’s new tag team partner is his half brother Khaluber. Khali comes out dressed in a McGruber costume. Kozlov goes after Khaluber, but is quickly overpowered. Khaluber goes for the Punjabi Plunge, but Kozlov fights back. Kozlov goes for the head block, but gets caught with an overhead chop. Kozlov walks out with Khaluber following him. McGruber gets back in the ring and Kozlov is counted out.

Move of the Match: There weren’t that many moves in this. I’ll give it to the headbutts from Kozlov to McGruber.

It’s time for the main event. Triple H, Rey Mysterio and Edge taking on Chris Jericho, CM Punk and Luke Gallows. Mysterio and Jericho start out. Mysterio and Jericho trade blows, and Mysterio sets Jericho up for an early 619, but Jericho rolls out of the ring. Punk goes after Mysterio and he too is sent out of the ring. Edge whips Mysterio to Triple H who tosses him over the ropes onto their opponents on the outside. Back from break, Punk and Mysterio are fighting in the ring. Mysterio goes for the wheelbarrow bulldog, but Punk drops him face first onto the turnbuckle instead. Punk tags in Gallows. Gallows stomps away at Mysterio and hits a couple of elbow drops. Gallows tags Jericho back in. Jericho hits a back suplex on Mysterio and then taunts him. He reaches for Mysterio who answers with a kick to Jericho’s head. Mysterio tries to make the tag, but Jericho stops him and catapults him into the turnbuckle. Mysterio starts to fight back and hits a springboard moonsault attack. Mysterio makes the tag to Edge while Jericho tags in Gallows. Big boot from Edge to Gallows and after dodging a clothesline, Edge hits a shoulder tackle. Edge sets up for the spear, but Jericho pulls him out of the ring. Triple H goes after Jericho to back him off. Edge is rolled back into the ring and Punk tags in. Jericho and Punk take turns working on Edge’s leg. Edge manages to fight back after Gallows is tagged in. Edge hits a flying clothesline. Edge tags in Triple H and Gallows tags in Punk. Triple H catches Punk with a high knee, a knee facebuster and hits a clothesline to earn a 2 count. Triple H hits the Spinebuster and sets up for the Pedigree, but Gallows comes in to hit the clothesline. Seated senton from Mysterio to Gallows. Jericho tosses Mysterio out of the ring, but he lands on his feet. Edge clotheslines Jericho out of the ring and catches Punk with a drop toe hold. Mysterio hits the 619 and Triple H follows up with the Pedigree to win the match.

Move of the Match: I’ll give this to the Pedigree for this match.

Mysterio, Edge and Triple H celebrate in the ring to end RAW.
