Victory Road 2010

Victory Road opens with the X-Division Championship Match.
My Prediction: I expect Kendrick to pick up the win in this match.

Williams starts the match by trying to climb up one of the trellises. He can’t seem to do it and goes down to face Kendrick. Williams gets a European cravat locked in, but Kendrick fights out with an arm drag and works on Williams in the corner. Williams fights out and hits a knee in the corner. Kendrick goes for the Cobra Clutch again, but Williams falls backwards to drop Kendrick on the mat. Williams locks in a Gory chin lock hold. Kendrick gets out and nails Williams with a kick. He hits a dropkick and a forearm shot and once again goes for the Cobra Clutch, but Williams backs him into the corner. Kendrick counters an attack from Williams and sends him out of the ring. Williams climbs up to the apron and after a shot to Kendrick goes up to the top rope. Kendrick goes after him and Williams ends up hung up in the Tree of Woe. Kendrick climbs over Williams and starts to climb. Williams catches him and ends up hitting a back suplex off the top rope. Kendrick and Williams trade attempts at Submissions and Kendrick manages to lock in his Cobra Clutch. Williams is able to go through the ropes to the ramp and breaks the hold by rolling off the ramp. Kendrick starts to climb again, but Williams gets up and goes after Kendrick. Williams knocks Kendrick down and he falls across the top rope. Williams goes down and goes after Kendrick. He pulls a pair of gloves out of his tights and slaps Kendrick with them. Williams gets back in the ring and puts on the gloves. Williams climbs up and starts to make his way across the cable. Kendrick gets up as well and Kendrick tries to lock in his Cobra Clutch while hanging from the ropes. Both men fall and Williams takes advantage to lock in the Cobra Clutch on Kendrick. The referee lifts Kendrick’s arm and lets it drop 3 times. Williams is declared winner by submission.

Move of the Match: There were a number of good moves, but I’ve got to give this to the Cobra Clutch move.

Christy Hemme is in the back with Brother Ray. Ray calls Jesse Neal a failure. He says Neal will be a failure tonight. He says it’s not in Devon’s best interest to lay a hand on Ray. Brother Ray says he is Team 3D.

Brother Ray vs. Jesse Neal vs. Brother Devon is next.
My Prediction: In the end, this match is hard to predict, but for some reason I see Devon picking up the win.

Brother Ray comes out and hides on the side of the stage. Neal comes out and Ray jumps him on the ramp. Ray looks to continue the attack when Devon’s music hits. He continues the attack on Neal while Devon doesn’t come out. We see that someone has used a board to lock Devon in his locker room. Ray goes after Neal, but Neal begins to fight back. Ray hits Neal with a big clothesline. He hits a pair off cross face blows on Neal and follows up with a big elbow drop. Ray continues the attack with a series of slaps. Ray hits a scoop slam, but Neal avoids the elbow drop and hits a series of strikes. Ray takes down Neal with a back body drop and hits a hip press in the corner. He follows up with a big boot as the ECW guys come into the arena. Brother Ray wants to know what they’re doing her and gets caught with a spear from Neal, but Neal only gets 2. Neal hits a series of strikes to Ray. Ray catches Neal with a back elbow and goes out to ringside for a chair. Shannon Moore comes out and the referee stops him from interfering while Ray hits Neal with the chair. 3D’s music hits again and Devon comes down the ramp. Devon and Ray stare down. They both turn to stare at Neal like they’re about to attack him, but then begin to fight each other. Neal goes for a spear on Ray, but Ray moves and he hits Devon instead. Ray catches Neal with the Bubba Bomb and covers for the 3 count.

Move of the Match: I think this has to go to the Bubba Bomb.

Angelina Love vs. Madison Rayne for the TNA Knockouts Title is next.
My Prediction: At this point, with all that’s been placed on this match, Angelina is pretty much guaranteed to take home the title.

Madison and Angelina trade blows. Angelina takes down Madison with a pair of mat slams and hits a spear. Madison rolls out of the ring and Angelina goes after her. Madison tries to take a shot at Angelina, but Angelina ducks and nails a clothesline. Angelina rolls Madison into the ring and covers for 2. She hits another spear on Madison for another 2 count. Angelina hits a jawbreaker on Madison and follows up with a pair of running strikes and a spinning kick. Madison fights back and hits a knee facebuster on Angelina. Madison gets a steel chair, but Angelina nails the Botox Injection to send the chair into Madison’s face. A woman on a motorcycle rides into the Impact Zone. Madison pushes Angelina out of the ring and the woman sends Angelina into the ring post. The referee tries to make the woman remove her helmet, but she won’t. The referee calls for the DQ and orders the Championship be given to Angelina Love.

Move of the Match: I have to give this to the Botox Injection into the chair.

After the match Madison argues with the referee and then joins the woman on the motorcycle and they ride out of the Impact Zone.

Christy Hemme is in the back with Mr. Anderson. Anderson cuts a comedic promo and says that they have an opportunity to do something special tonight and he has the opportunity to become a World Heavyweight Champion @$$hole.

Up next is Kazarian and A.J. Styles vs. Mystery opponents.
My Prediction: It’s hard to say for sure what the outcome of this match will be, but I expect A.J. and Kaz to find a way to work together and pick up the win.

The mystery opponents are revealed to be Rob Terry and Samoa Joe. AJ and Terry start the match. AJ goes over and tags in Kaz. Terry grabs Kaz by the head and shoots him off. Terry hits Kaz with a shoulder block and Kaz rolls out of the ring. Joe hits Kaz with a series of punches on the outside and nails AJ with a thrust kick when he comes to help. AJ looks for the Styles Clash and rolls through when Joe tries to counter, but Joe catches him with a boot. AJ ducks an attack and hits the Pelé kick. AJ charges after Joe, but Joe hits him with a side slam out of the corner. Joe makes the tag to Terry who takes on both AJ and Kaz. He sends Kaz into both corner and hits a big back body drop. He takes down AJ with a gorilla press slam. Terry goes for his spinning kick, but Kaz ducks it. Kaz goes for a cross body, but Terry catches him and hits a fall away slam. Terry hits a suplex into a powerslam on AJ for 2, but Kaz breaks up the count. Joe comes in and hits Kaz with a pair of chops. He hits the knee in the corner and goes for the Muscle Buster. Wolfe comes out and pulls Joe out of the ring. Joe hits a series of shots on Wolfe, but Kaz catches Joe with a double axe handle off the top. The referee goes out after Kaz, and Wolfe slides into the ring and goes after Terry, but Terry catches him with a big clothesline. AJ hits Terry with a springboard forearm to the back and Kaz follows up with a springboard dropkick. Kaz hits his springboard leg drop and AJ follows up with the Superman Splash to pick up the 3 count on Terry.

Move of the Match: I’ve got to give this to the Springboard Leg Drop/Superman Splash combo that Kaz and AJ used to win the match.

After the match, Wolfe comes in and wants to celebrate with AJ and Kaz. AJ shakes his hand and they leave him in the ring. Joe slides in and attacks Wolfe. Joe drops Wolfe with the Muscle Buster as AJ and Kaz watch from the ramp.

Abyss is in the back with his “girl.” He again says “they” are coming. Abyss says the pattern of destruction will continue tonight as he wins the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Matt Morgan vs. Hernandez is next.
My Prediction: Look for Morgan to pull out all the stops, but also look for Hernandez to overcome the odds and gain the victory.

Morgan tries to escape the cage immediately, but Hernandez grabs him and sends him into the sides of the cage. Morgan goes after Hernandez in the corner, but Hernandez moves and proceeds to pick up Morgan and drop him across the top rope. Morgan goes up top and dropkicks Morgan into the side of the cage. Hernandez hits a running splash to sends Morgan into the cage. He does it a second time, but when he goes for a third, Morgan moves and Hernandez runs into the side of the cage head first. Morgan sends Hernandez into the side of the cage 3 times and stands over him. Morgan sends him into the fourth side of the cage. Hernandez tries to fight back, but runs into a discus clothesline from Morgan. Morgan taunts the crowd. He goes to leave, but Hernandez grabs his leg. Morgan goes after Hernandez again. He sets him up and hits the back elbows in the corner. Hernandez fights back and sets himself up on the top rope, but Morgan nails him with the Carbon Footprint while he’s on the ropes. Morgan once again goes to leave the cage, but turns to go after Hernandez again. Morgan goes to the door again. He gets one foot out the door, but sees Hernandez getting up and goes after him again. Morgan uses his rope hung surfboard hold and rakes Hernandez’s head across the cage. Morgan once again taunts the crowd and sets up Hernandez in the corner. He whips him into the other corner, but Hernandez comes out with a huge clothesline. He hits a running splash into the corner and another clothesline. Morgan goes for the Carbon Footprint, but gets caught with a shoulder block. Hernandez looks for the Border Toss, but Morgan flails and Hernandez can’t keep Morgan on his shoulder. Morgan hits a short arm clothesline and rakes his shoe across Hernandez’s head. Hernandez avoids the splash in the corner and goes for the Border Toss again. Once again, he can’t maintain the hold, but this time he drops Morgan into a powerbomb type move. Hernandez goes up top and goes for a diving splash from the top, but Morgan moves. Morgan grabs a pair of handcuffs from ringside. Morgan handcuffs Hernandez to the top rope and starts to climb up top. Morgan stops at the top to taunt the crowd again. Hernandez breaks the handcuffs and hits the big man dive through the door and lands on the ramp to win the match.

Move of the Match: I think this has to go either to the drop kick from Hernandez early on simply because it was something you wouldn’t really expect from Hernandez or to the gutwrench powerbomb type move used when Hernandez couldn’t properly hit the Border toss on Morgan.

3 for 5

In the back, Flair says that Lethal has made a bad career move. He says Ric Flair is the reason there is a sport called pro wrestling and when he and Lethal face off, Lethal will be standing in the ring saying, “O my God, what have I done?”

Ric Flair vs. Jay Lethal is next.
My Prediction: This is in some ways hard to predict. I fully expect this to be a tough match, but I also expect that Lethal will pick up the win in the end.

Flair and Lethal lock up. Flair shoots off Lethal, but Lethal hits a shoulder block. They lock up again and this time Flair hits a shoulder block, but Lethal quickly comes back with a dropkick. Lethal gets up and Flair hits him with a chop block. Flair once again focuses on Lethal’s leg. He stomps on it and locks in the Figure Four Leg Lock. Lethal tries to fight back while Flair uses the ropes for leverage when the referee isn’t watching. Referee Earl Hebner sees Flair using the ropes and forces him to break the hold. Flair gets up and pushes Hebner, but Hebner responds by pushing Flair back. Lethal takes advantage to roll Flair up, but only gets 2. Flair puts Lethal in the corner and hits a series of shots. Flair and Lethal trade blows with Flair getting the best of it, but Lethal won’t back down. Lethal hits a flying forearm on Flair and hits some shots. Flair sends Lethal off and Lethal hits his handspring elbow off the ropes. Flair sends Lethal into the corner, but Lethal flips over the ropes and lands on the apron. Lethal hits Flair with a shoulder block and goes for a sunset flip. Flair tries to pull himself away and Lethal maintains hold of the tights causing them to start to come off. Flair is holding onto his tights and manages to kick Lethal off. Lethal gets up and Flair gets him in a sleeper. Lethal drops out and Flair goes into the turnbuckle. Lethal hits a springboard crossbody out of the corner onto Flair. He follows up with a slingshot corner splash to Flair’s legs. Lethal chop blocks Flair’s leg and locks in the Figure Four on Flair. Flair taps out and Lethal wins this match.

Move of the Match: This has to go to the Figure Four Leg Lock because not only did it give Lethal the win, but it was great to see Lethal pick up the win on Flair with Flair’s own finisher.

After the match Flair gets up and gets in Hebner’s face. Hebner pushes Flair down and raises Lethal’s hand. Lethal gets the mic and says, “Hey, mom, I did it!”

Jeff Hardy is in the back. He tells Christy he’s going to keep things hot and all the Creatures of the Night will fly high with him tonight.

The Guns hit their diving cross body/neckbreaker combo again and this time pick up the 3 count for the win.

Move of the Match: There were a number of great moves, but I have to give this to the diving cross body/neckbreaker combo.

5 for 7

Up next we see “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero taking on Kurt Angle.
My Prediction: As much as I like the Pope, with Angle saying he will leave if he loses, he’s pretty much guaranteed to pick up the win in this match.

Angle backs Pope into the corner and the referee splits them up. Angle goes after Pope again and locks in a front face lock. Pope fights back and gets a hammerlock. After the match, Angle helps Pope up and the 2 men hug in a show of respect.

Rob Van Dam tells Christy Hemme that if Abyss tries to use his weapon, RVD will get a hold of it and put it where the “sun don’t shine.” He says all he’s worried about tonight is remaining champion.

It’s time for the Main Event.
My Prediction: I see RVD picking up in the win and proving that just because a fatal four way match doesn’t favor the champion, he still has a chance to retain his title.

JB introduces Mr. Anderson, Abyss, Jeff Hardy and RVD and after the announcement, the referee shows the title and signals for the match to start. Abyss is still outside the ring and all three men are staring at him. They go after him as he gets up on the apron. Anderson, RVD and Hardy take turns attacking Abyss. RVD hits his monkey flip and Anderson tries to cover, but only gets a 1 count. Anderson shoots off Hardy who jumps off RVD’s back to land on Abyss on the outside. Hardy goes after Abyss and hits Whisper in the Wind, but Anderson breaks up the count. Anderson goes after Abyss and hits the Mic Check, but Hardy breaks up the count with a dropkick. Abyss blocks the Twist of Fate and hits the Black Hole Slam, but Anderson pulls the referee out of the ring. Hardy gets back up and knocks Abyss out of the ring. Anderson and Hardy trade blows. Anderson goes for the Mic Check, but Hardy fights it off. Anderson blocks the Twist of Fate and Hardy blocks the Green Bay Plunge. Hardy hits the Twist of Fate on Anderson and goes up top, but Abyss rolls into the ring. Hardy hits the Swanton, but Abyss follows up by chokeslamming him onto Anderson. Abyss puts Hardy on top of Anderson and covers them both, but RVD breaks up the count with the 5 Star Frog Splash to Abyss’ back. RVD covers Anderson and picks up the 3 count for the win.

Move of the Match: There were a number of good moves. I liked the Tower of Doom and the fact that each man hit one of their finishers at least once. I think I have to give this to the 5 Star Frog Splash.

After the match, Abyss attacks RVD. He gets his weapon and chases off the referee. Abyss swings, but RVD moves. The weapon hits the mat and rips up the canvas. RVD and Abyss stare down to end the pay-per-view.
