IMPACT 6/3/10

IMPACT opens with Sting coming out to the ring. Sting says there is a meaning to his actions. He says that at Slammiversary there will be a change. He tells Rob Van Dam that he is just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Video comes on the screen showing Sting’s attacks over the past couple of weeks. Eric Bischoff comes out. Bischoff says that Sting is a man hiding behind a mask and avoiding the truth. Bischoff says that Sting’s issues are his problem, not Hogan and Bischoff. Bischoff says Sting puts himself first, but Hulk and Bischoff put the fans first. Bischoff puts Sting in a match right now and informs him that his opponent is standing right behind him. Sting turns around to come face to face with Samoa Joe. One Sting is facing him, Joe goes after him immediately. Morgan comes out and attacks Joe from behind. Morgan and Sting double team Joe, but RVD comes out to make the save. Sting runs from the ring and RVD sends Morgan out with a pair of kicks. Bischoff says this match will continue later tonight as a tag team match. RVD says he thinks it should be a four way instead. Bischoff says he doesn’t have that authority and he’ll have to check with Hogan. Hogan comes out and tells RVD that if he wants a four way, he’s got it.

Christy Hemme is in the back with AJ. AJ says he’s pissed because just been informed he has a triple threat match with Jay Lethal and Kazarian tonight. Kazarian says he’ll make Flair proud. Flair says they’ll both make him proud because they’re taking care of Lethal tonight.

Up next is Knockouts in action. First is a new knockout, Rosie Lottalove. This is the knockout that accidentally injured Daffney during a dark match a couple weeks ago. Rosie’s opponent is Roxxi. Roxxi goes to a side headlock, but gets dropped with a Mongolian chop type move. Rosie picks up Roxxi and drops her with a scoop slam. Rosie sends Roxxi into the corner and looks for a running hip strike, but Roxxi moves. Roxxi fights back with forearm strikes. Roxxi dropkicks Rose, but Rosie remains standing. Roxxi goes to build momentum, but Madison Rayne is out and hits Roxxi in the back with the Knockout’s Championship. Madison tells Rosie to pin Roxxi. Rosie yells at Madison and Roxxi catches Rosie with a small package (or a “big package” as Taz called it) for the 3 count.

Move of the match: There weren’t too many moves in this match worth mentioning, but I’m going to give this to the Mongolian chop type move from early on.

After the match Madison gets in the ring and yells at Rosie. Rosie grabs Madison by the throat and drops her with a two handed chokeslam. JB catches Rosie at ringside and asks her about her debut. Rosie says the Beautiful People think they can come in and take out “every ugly person” one at a time, but Rosie Lottalove is big, she’s bad and she’s beautiful. Rosie says she will take the Beautiful People out. She then proceeds to kiss JB and leaves.

AJ Styles vs. Kazarian vs. Jay Lethal is up next. AJ leaves the ring to start and Lethal gets a 1 count on Kaz off a roll up. Lethal hits a chop in the corner. Lethal hits the hip toss and goes for his cartwheel into a low dropkick, but AJ comes in and nails Lethal with a clothesline. AJ backs Lethal into the corner and then sends him off into the opposite corner. Lethal avoids the forearm in the corner and comes back with a series of shots. Lethal hits a head scissors takedown on AJ and goes for the Lethal Combination, but Kaz cuts him off with a dropkick. Kaz and AJ argue. Lethal goes to hit Kaz and when Kaz ducks, AJ gets hit. Kaz goes for a back suplex, but Lethal flips out. Lethal hits a bulldog (on Kaz)/clothesline (on AJ) combo. He covers both men, but doesn’t get more than a 2 count on either. AJ elevates Lethal to the apron, but when Lethal looks for a springboard move, Kaz pushes AJ out of the way and catches Lethal with a cutter. Kaz gets a 2 count. AJ hits a huge backbreaker on Lethal. AJ and Kaz are now playing a game of one upping. Kaz hits a unique hip toss into a neckbreaker and tells AJ to beat that. AJ says they should work together. They keep arguing and Lethal fights back. He hits a forearm to Kaz and a dropkick to AJ. AJ hits a kip up into a head scissors takedown. AJ wants a double suplex, but Kaz wants a double back suplex. AJ sends Lethal into the corner. AJ is going to springboard, but as he goes for it, Kaz leans back against the ropes causing AJ to fall. AJ and Kaz argue again and Lethal pushes AJ into Kaz then rolls up AJ for the 3 count.

Move of the Match: I’m going to have to give this to Kaz’s unique hip toss neckbreaker move.

After the match, Flair comes into the ring. Flair tells AJ he is not focused and needs to go home and regroup. He tells AJ to figure out what he wants to do and where he wants to be and sends him out of the arena. As AJ backs up the ramp, Angle comes out. Angle and AJ have a stare down. Angle comes down to the ring. Angle says he came out to show Kazarian respect before making him his first victim. He tells Kaz that he has requested a match against Kaz at Slammiversary. Ric Flair addresses Angle’s ignoring him. He talks about his relationship with Angle. Flair says that whatever Angle was as an amateur, Flair is 10 times better as a Pro. Flair says that until he feels respect from Angle, Angle can hit it just like AJ. Flair tells Angle to hold the ropes for him while he leaves. Angle holds the ropes for Flair, but after Flair leaves the ring, Angle tosses him off the ramp. Kaz goes after Angle and tosses him back into the ring. Angle fights back and sends Kaz out of the ring with a series of punches.

In the back, Morgan tries to get Sting to work together with him in the four way tonight. Sting walks off without answering.

AJ says that if he wants to get back in Flair’s good graces he has to take out Jay Lethal. He says he’ll go tell Bischoff he wants Lethal at Slammiversary.

Mr. Anderson joins Christy Hemme in the ring. Anderson keeps staring at her chest and Christy gets mad. He comments that he’s an @$$hole and points out that many of the fans were probably hoping for a wardrobe malfunction, and that makes them @$$holes too. Anderson says that because Beer Money didn’t have opponents for Slammiversary, he put his name in. Anderson introduces his partner, Jeff Hardy. Hardy says he’s teaming with Anderson because in TNA, Anderson is the second craziest S.O.B. next to Hardy himself. Beer Money comes out. Robert Roode says that Hardy and Anderson are a mismatch. Roode asks them what makes them think they can step into the same ring as Beer Money at Slammiversary. Anderson wants to know why Roode’s hair is always wet and why James Storm wears sunglasses indoors. Storm hits Anderson with a cheap shot. The four men brawl and security comes out to break them up.

Now is supposed to be Jeff Hardy vs. James Storm, but we’re told the match hasn’t officially started because Hardy and Storm are still brawling on the outside. Hardy pulls up the mat and whips Storm onto the concrete with a hip toss. Hardy brings Storm into the ring and the referee starts the match when Hardy gets on the apron. Storm catches Hardy with a kick and drops him with a rope hung DDT. Storm chokes Hardy on the ropes. Storm hits a knee lift on the outside and covers for 2 in the ring. Hardy starts to fight back, but gets caught with a gut buster followed by a mat slam from Storm who gets another 2 count. Storm goes out to ringside and grabs a chair. Hardy fights back and hits a jawbreaker on Storm. Storm and Hardy trade blows. Storm gets caught with a sleeper slam and a clothesline. Hardy sets up the chair and hits Storm with Poetry in Motion. Hardy looks for the Twist of Fate, but Storm fights out. Hardy hits Storm with a gourdbuster and goes up top, but Storm catches him and goes for a Frankensteiner, but Hardy holds on and Storm goes down alone. Hardy follows up with Whisper in the Wind and gets a 2 count. Storm spits beer in Hardy’s face and hits the Eye of the Storm, but only gets a 2 count. Storm looks to use the chair on Hardy, but Hardy moves and the chair bounces off the ropes and hits Storm in the face. Hardy catches Storm with the Twist of Fate. He goes up to and hits the Swanton. Hardy covers for the 3 count and the win.

Move of the Match: There were some good moves in this match. I liked seeing the Eye of the Storm, but I’m going to give this to the Swanton Bomb.

Up next is Robert Roode taking on Mr. Anderson. Anderson and Roode lock up and Roode backs Anderson into the corner. Anderson avoids a cheap shot and hits Roode with a punch. Anderson gets a side headlock and when Roode tries to avoid the attack off an Irish whip, Anderson steps on his back and drops an elbow on him. Anderson hangs Roode up on the ropes and gets a 2 count off a roll up. Anderson follows Roode into the ring, but Roode kicks the ropes into Anderson’s groin and drops him with a neckbreaker. Roode hits Anderson with shots in the corner. Roode hits a flipping neck snap and gets a 2 count. Roode gets a chinlock on Anderson. Roode looks for a spinebuster, but Anderson fights out. Anderson looks for the Mic Check, but Roode fights out. Anderson tries to hit Roode with the Plunge, but Roode rakes his eyes. Roode clotheslines Anderson in the corner. Anderson hits a sunset flip, but Roode sits down and pins Anderson by holding onto the ropes.

Move of the Match: I think I’m going to have to give this to the flipping neck snap.

Anderson calls for the mic. He says that it seems that people have to use underhanded tactics to beat him. He says it’s because he is not a mere mortal, but is Mr. Anderson… Anderson.

Douglas Williams is talking about the X Division. He says that no one is going to be able to take the belt from him with the high flying style.

Abyss and Rob Terry vs. Desmond Wolfe and Orlando Jordan. Wolfe and Abyss start out. Jordan hits Abyss in the injured arm with the dumbbell he brought with him to ringside and Wolfe attacks the arm. Wolfe tags in Jordan and Jordan drops a double axe handle onto the arm. Jordan hits a series of strikes, but runs into a back elbow from Abyss. Abyss throws Jordan out of the ring. Jordan says something insulting to Chelsea and she slaps him. Wolfe comes out and yells at Jordan and Chelsea. Abyss tags in Terry and comes out to nail Wolfe with a punch. Abyss slams Wolfe repeatedly into the guard rail. Jordan is distracted by this and Terry brings him in from the apron with a hip toss. Terry follows up with the Freakbuster and covers for the 3 count.

Move of the Match: I’m going to give this to the Freakbuster.

We see Jesse Neal laid out in the back with an Ace of Spades on his chest.

Up next is Matt Morgan vs. Sting vs. Samoa Joe vs. Rob Van Dam. The match begins with Sting attacks RVD on the outside and Morgan attacking Joe in the ring. Joe fights back. Joe avoids an attack in the corner and hits a back elbow followed by the jumping kick. Sting sends RVD into the ring steps on the outside and rolls him into the ring while Joe follows Morgan to the outside. RVD hits Sting with a kick to the back and drops him with an atomic drop. RVD hits a clothesline and a super kick to Sting. Joe rolls into the ring and he and RVD come face to face. Morgan and Sting come back in and attack RVD and Joe. Sting chokes RVD in one corner while Morgan chokes Joe in the other. RVD fights out of the corner and hits the thrust kick off the top. RVD hits Rolling Thunder on Sting. RVD covers, but Morgan breaks up the count. Morgan goes after Sting and Sting catches Morgan with a kick, but Morgan answers with a discus clothesline. Joe breaks up the count and sends Morgan out of the ring. Joe catches Sting with a thrust kick, but Morgan breaks up the count. Morgan hits a splash in the corner and follows up with a sidewalk slam. RVD goes for a cross body, but Morgan catches him and drops him with a swinging side slam. Morgan hits his back elbow in the corner on RVD. He notices someone (looked like Hernandez) in the audience and is distracted. Joe hits Morgan with a kick and follows up with the Muscle Buster. Joe gets caught with the diving thrust kick from RVD. RVD follows up with the 5 Star Frog Splash on Morgan and gets the 3 count.

Move of the Match: There were a number of good moves (especially considering that this was a relatively short match.) I’m going to give this to the 5 Star Frog Splash.
