Superstars 5/20/10

Superstars begins with Vladimir Kozlov coming out to the ring. Santino is out next. Santino says that just because Kozlov is with William Regal doesn’t mean they have to fight. He says that if Rocky Balboa and Ivan Drago can become friends, so can they. He says they’d be the greatest tag team “of all the times.” Santino tells Kozlov that when he puts down the microphone, they can do one of two things. They can fight, or they can leave together and become a tag team. Santino puts the microphone down. Kozlov grabs Santino and hits multiple headbutts followed by the Iron Curtain and covers for the win.

Move of the match: This match consisted of about 3 headbutts and the Iron Curtain, so this has to go to the Iron Curtain.

Up next is Goldust taking on William Regal. Regal gains control, but runs into a hip blow from Goldust. Goldust backs Regal into the corner and hits him with a boot. Arm drag leg drop and Goldust backs Regal into another corner. Regal fights back with a kick and a pair of European uppercuts. Another kicks sets Goldust up on the ropes, but when Regal goes to choke him, Goldust answers with a back elbow. They trade blows and Regal drops a knee onto Goldust’s arm. Regal nails the drop toe hold and locks in an armbar. Another knee drop and regal follows up with an arm lock takedown. Goldust is bleeding and the referee pauses the match so the doctor can check the extent of the damage. Goldust is back up. Regal goes back to the arm of Goldust, but Goldust fights back with a series of right hands. Goldust avoids the attack in the corner and hits more right hands. Goldust hits the scoop slam for a 2 count. A running bulldog gains him another 2 count. Regal fights back with a t-bone suplex. Regal goes for the Knee Trembler, but Goldust moves and catches Regal with the Final Cut to earn the 3 count.

Move of the Match: This has to go to the Final Cut.

The next match features Cody Rhodes and Chris Masters going at it. Rhodes starts out by targeting Master’s arm, but Masters overpowers him. Rhodes goes for a kick and ends up back on the mat. Rhodes charges at Masters and runs into a clothesline. Masters locks in an arm lock on Rhodes. Rhodes starts to fight back, but gets taken down again. Rhodes backs Masters into the ropes and the referee breaks the hold. Action gets going and Masters hits Rhodes with a big back body drop. Rhodes rolls to the outside. Masters follows and Rhodes manages to slam his arm into the ring post. Back from break, Rhodes is working on the arm and then hits Masters with a Russian Legsweep. He follows up with a kick to the head. Masters tries to fight back, but Rhodes drops him with a front suplex. Rhodes follows up with a knee drop and covers for a 2 count. Rhodes goes back to the arm on Masters. Masters fights back, but Rhodes catches him with an uppercut. Masters fights back again with a clothesline on Rhodes. Masters follows with another clothesline and a back elbow. A samoan drop earns Masters a 2 count. Masters goes for the Master Lock, but can’t lock it in and Rhodes reaches the ropes. Rhodes hits Masters with an armlock takedown. Rhodes follows up with Cross Rhodes and covers for the win.

Move of the Match: There were some good moves from both men, but this goes to the Cross Rhodes.

Tonight’s main event is Christian taking on Dolph Ziggler. Dolph gets the takedown and a roll up for an early 1 count. They lock up again and this time Christian gets the quick cover for a 1 count. Ziggler nails Christian with a series of shots. Christian avoids Zigger and nails him with a dropkick. Christian goes after Ziggler who is on the apron, but Ziggler nails him with a shoulder and pulls him out of the ring. Ziggler tries to kick Christian, but Christian moves and drops Ziggler on the apron. Christian goes back in the ring and hits his jumping dropkick to Ziggler. Christian brings Ziggler back into the ring. Ziggler catches Christian with a knee and covers for a 2 count. Ziggler continues the attack on Christian. Christian goes after Ziggler and Ziggler fights back sending Christian over the ropes to the floor. Back from break and Ziggler has Christian in a leg scissors hold. Christian fights back and nails Ziggler with a series of shots. Ziggler fights back and nails Christian with a leg drop bulldog. Ziggler chokes Christian on the ropes. He stomps him in the corner, and the ref backs him up. Christian avoids the charge and hits his pendulum kick. Series of shots from Christian and he hits Ziggler with a flapjack. Christian hits the missile dropkick and covers for 2. Ziggler fights back and tries to suplex Christian out of the ring, but Christian lands on the apron and hits a reverse hot shot on Ziggler. Christian hits a diving crossbody, but Ziggler rolls through for a 2 count. Ziggler goes for the Sleeper Hold and gets it locked in, but Christian fights out and hits the inverted DDT for another 2 count. The two trade holds. Christian goes for his sunset flip out of the corner, but Ziggler sits down on Christian for a 2 count. Ziggler sends Christian into the corner and goes for the Zig Zag, but Christian holds onto the ropes. Christian hits the diving elbow and drops Ziggler with the Killswitch. He covers for the 3 count and the win.

Move of the Match: There were a lot of great moves, but this has to go to the Killswitch.
